Favourite subject
There are many subjects that we study in our curriculum. Not that I dislike any of them but I love English Literature the most.
English Literature is my favourite subject because it transports me to another world. With the stories of Ruskin Bond I can feel the fresh and beautiful Nature of the Himalayan forests. Charles Dickens' works reveal to me the reality of British life and its hardships.
With Wordsworth, Shelley and Keats I can feel the essence of Nature and Life.
There are many more poets and writers of Literature who not only take me on a ride to a different world in a different age but also teach me to see and learn a lot from the various characters of the stories.
I have been able to get rid of superstitions by reading Tagore, I have developed a strong optimistic attitude towards life by following the course of action of Hester Prynne in The Scarlet Letter.
The Old Man and the Sea taught me the philosophy of life so did The Life of Pi.
The list is never ending. In short whatever I am today is because of how Literature has guided me and moulded me. I have voraciously fed on its works like a caterpillar and it has transformed me to a butterfly.
