Water, as we all know is the most precious resource we have. The basic necessities of human life is fulfilled by it. In today's world we stand and see how this resource is depleting at a high rate and water scarcity has become a huge problem. More than 2/5th of the world is suffering from it.
Water can be conserved with a lot of means and ways. We have learned basic measures in our early classes for instance; moping floor instead of washing it, closing our taps while brushing and many more. We can also conserve water by using the same water twice. We can do this by watering plants with the water we used to wash our utensils. This will reduce usage of water and help us conserve gallons of it. We can also perform rain water harvesting. Water can be conserved by all these and many other ways. We should spread awareness of not letting villagers wash their cattle at river banks as it pollutes the water body. Waste should be treated before being thrown in the river
Such measure help us conserve water. We all dream for a green and clean nation where living can be as beautiful as we all wish. So let's take a step and work towards the betterment for all.
Thank you
Answer:
Respected Principal, teachers and my fellow students. A very good morning to all of you. It is indeed a great privilege for me to stand before you. My topic for today is the importance of water conservation.
First, the definition of water conservation. Water conservation is the practice of using water efficiently to reduce unnecessary water usage. Water conservation is important because fresh clean water is a limited resource and mankind, animals, birds and all all life forms need water for survival. Some ways to conserve water and prevent wasting of water are:
1) Fix any leak in your toilet and shower quickly.
2) Check for leaks in water pipes both inside and outside the house.
3) Do not waste water by taking unnecessary long showers.
4) While brushing your teeth or shaving, turn off the tap when not in use.
5) Rinse your vegetables in a bowl instead of washing them in a running water tap.
6) Water your lawn only when it needs it and not as and when you want to.
7) Plant drought-resistant trees and plants. There are many beautiful trees and plants which thrive with less water.
8) Reuse the water for rinsing vegetables for watering your garden.
9) Use modern efficient irrigation systems.
10) Children love to play under a hose or sprinkler on a hot day. But this practice is wasteful of precious water and should be discouraged.
Water is a finite resource. If not managed properly it will result in acute scarcity in the future. Let us conserve water for the preservation of human life and other life forms on Earth.
Thank you so much.
