Since they are in the same ecosystem they will directly or indirectly depend on each for survival. It can also be said that a and b were evolved from the same ancestor and ended up as two different species due to evolution

- Both of the species are interdependent  

- One could be a producer(plants) and other could be a consumer (herbivore)

- A change in the behavior of specie A can affect the behavior of specie B
