The diversity of life during the Cenozoic era is far wider than mammals.


It dates back to 65 million years ago and apparently considered as the age of mammals when the mammals began to rule the earth following the extinction of dinosaurs.


These species did not lay hard shelled eggs rather gave birth to the younger ones.  So it is false.
