EVENTS THAT CHANGED THE HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY OF MADHYA PRADESH
- JUNE 1 , 1949
Bhopal was one of the last states to be merged into the Indian union.
On 30 April 1949 nawab Hamidullah Khan signed an agreement to merge Bhopal with Madhya Pradesh.
And Bhopal princely state was taken under by Union Government.
- 1956
In 1956, the state of Madhya Pradesh was reorganized.
Its part was combined with Vindhya Pradesh, Madhya Bharat, and Bhopal.
Bhopal was declared the capital.
- NOVEMBER 1, 2000
Approximately 1.35 lakh square kilometers of the southeastern part of Madhya Pradesh was carved out into Chhattisgarh.
This lead to the division of the state.
POLITICAL CRISIS OF MADHYA PRADESH IN MARCH 2020
From the 5th of March till the 20th of march the Madhya Pradesh goverment went into crisis .
- Kamal Nath the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh resigned from his seat.
- Around 20 MLA's resignation was reported.
- The outcome was that a new government was formed.
- Shivraj Singh Chauhan of Bhartiya Janta Party was assigned as the new chief minister of Madhya Pradesh.
