We, the citizens of India, in this crucial time, need to focus on maintaining the peace and harmony of the country. The principles of the great Mahatma Gandhi include following the path of truth and non-violence( Ahimsa).
It's with silence, simplicity and Ahimsa and not violence that we need to foster a sense of unity amongst the countrymen. Only by following his footsteps we can curb the existing evils of our society, thereby becoming a true reformer and nationalist.
According to Gandhi, “A man is but the product of his thoughts; what he thinks, he becomes". Therefore, in order to bring about any reforms, we need to change our thoughts first and the rest will follow accordingly.
