Respected Principal sir,teachers and my dear friends, today (August 15) we have all gathered here on the occasion of Independence Day and I have got a chance to express my views on this auspicious occasion of Independence Day in front of all of you, it is my good fortune.Do you know which Independence Day of India is being celebrated this year? India's 76th Independence Day is being celebrated this year. Our country of India remained under British rule for 200 years. To liberate the country, many freedom fighters of our country like – Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lok Manyata Tilak, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Lala Lajpat Rai, Khudiram Bose, Subhash Chandra Bose and Mangal Pandey etc. made sacrifices and suffered atrocities. Despite this, he should always be ready to get freedom for the country. After fighting the freedom struggle from the year 1857-1947 and after suffering a lot of atrocities, on August 15, 1947, our country of India became free from British rule.
Every year 15 August is celebrated as the Independence Day of India. This day has been written in golden letters in the history of India. Every year the Prime Minister hosts the national flag at the Red Fort followed by singing of the national anthem, parade march and show of strength by the army as well as a 21-gun salute to the freedom fighters. The festival of Independence Day on 15th August is celebrated with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism all over the country. Cultural programs are organized in schools and colleges in which most of the children participate and present different offerings.
Some recite patriotic songs, some recite poems related to patriotism and some prepare dances on cultural songs. Student Bhagat Singh becomes Mahatma Gandhi and other revolutionaries and performs plays. All offices, offices, institutions etc. have a government holiday. We did not get freedom from British rule just like that. Many freedom fighters of our country have sacrificed to get this freedom. We should take a pledge to maintain the honor of the nation while honoring our nation by remembering and remembering the sacrifices of all the martyr freedom fighters.
