Good morning everyone present; I am here to express my views on ‘Indians have Miles to go’. It is quite true, India has miles to go indeed in many spheres.
The first and foremost challenge to be overcome is the challenge of population. Population and better life conditions have inverse relationship. The less the number of people living an area, the less the stress on natural resources; the less the production waste material that causes hygiene and health related problems. Have you ever wondered why there is so much squalor and filth in India? Well, these problems are directly related to the problem of population. We as a nation must overcome this challenge if we have to become an advanced and sophisticated nation.
The second milestone we have to reach is the environmental milestone. The environment has been severely affected by our collective recklessness and negligence. In his greed to earn more profit man omits to treat the toxic effluents before releasing them into rivers, lakes, oceans, etc.; he ignores the most important fact of preserving the purity of environment.
The shocking truth is our environment has been irreparably damaged by man’s recklessness! Man-made monsters such as global warming, land, air, and water pollution, population explosion, deforestation, etc. may swallow our planet anytime! We must conserve the beauty and purity of our unique environment.
The third most crucial challenge is technological advancement. India is technologically not as advanced as many other advanced nations such as America, Russia, Germany, U.K. France, Japan, China, etc. For many advanced technologies we have to depend upon others. India can’t become a great country without becoming technologically advanced.
So, all Indians should strive to lay the foundations by achieving the above mentioned milestones.
