Originally the caste system was supposed to divide our community into particular groups or sections for the social stratification and a peaceful division of occupational fields. But later, this division formed a pyramidal structure where the highest caste was associated with getting the highest respect.

What made this patriarchal system toxic was the strict adherence to traditions, customs, and certain beliefs like superstitions or reincarnation and the past life’s deeds. All this gave rise to torture and oppression against the lower castes like Dalits and the untouchable
