A marriage is a cause for great celebration in India. Unfortunately, so is a child marriage. There is no doubt that a child marriage is a violation of human rights and can result in bonded labour, enslavement, commercial sexual exploitation and violence against its victims. Since they cannot abstain from sex or insist on condom useAccording to UNICEF’s ‘State of the World’s Children – 2009’ Report, 47% of India’s women were married before the legal age of 18, with 56% child marriages occurring in rural areas. The report also revealed another shocking fact: 40% of the world’s child marriages occur in India.
Efforts to bring about social reform against the practice of child- marriage were made, amongst others, by the Brahmo Samaj led by Raja Ram Mohan Roy and the Arya Samaj led by Swami Dayananda Saraswati. This, however, was not enough, and a piece of prohibitory legislation was thought to be the best solution.

Child marriage is an old practice which is still prevalent in India, especially in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. With the implementation of India's development and modernization and strict rules of marriageable age, there has been a considerable decline in the number of child marriages due to 18 for boys and 21 for boys. Yet there is a shortage of awareness among small villages where illegal marriage practices are practiced.
Meaning:
Child marriage is the formal marriage of children who are under 18 years of age. Indian law prohibits marriages where a girl or boy under the age of 18 is not able to get 21 years of age. This is a big problem in Indian society because children's lives, especially girls, are troubled by this bad problem. Child marriage is a major social issue, although an ancient tradition, this tradition is prevalent in many parts of India, especially in rural areas.
Due to child marriage
# Illiteracy
# Low status of women
# Family financial or financial disability
# Custom, traditional belief and social mind-set
# Develop relational alliances among families for other businesses or financial support.
# Gender disparities in society
Some child marriages are organized between a girl and an old man. Although it is amazing but it is true. As a result, these girls get widows to mature and most of the communities do not allow widows to remarry. There is no mistake for a girl to live a widow's life. Thus by helping two children enter such a horrific case, you are not only assuring a bright future for these children but for the whole of India.
