Media has contributed greatly in ways that both enlighten and enrich society , but in other ways it has deteriorated and perplexed it. It depends on how the youth using the internet as the global information. It also much influenced by the moral background of the youth. Youth with good moral back will take very much advantage information from the internet to enrich their life. But if the youth have a bad moral background, internet will destroy their life.Though media's role is to inform, educate and entertain, it also corrupts and exploits, contributing to the moral degradation of society.
Before blaming the media , we go to take a good look at our own notions and concepts of things. The media and the society go hand in hand. it's something like 'you scratch my back, and i scratch youth’.
The Media ought to be used as a tool for solving, promoting and improving YOUTH MATTERS, so that the youths can be well oriented and educated on the roles they are expected to play in the very near future.
My opinion is that the media should focus on educative programmes that would educate the minds of young people and give children the right to express themselves through the media.

The Effect of Social Media on Teenagers
Does social media make teens more anxious and depressed? This has become one of the more controversial questions regarding teen use of technology, with studies showing varied results.
Many experts believe that the constant overstimulation of social networking shifts the nervous system into fight-or-flight mode. As a result, this makes disorders such as ADHD, teen depression, oppositional defiant disorder, and teen anxiety worse.
This is borne out by a large body of research linking teenagers’ use of social media with increased teen depression. These studies show that the frequency of a teen’s use of social media has a clear correlation to their mental health. For example, in a 2018 study, 14- to 17-year-olds who used social media seven hours per day were more than twice as likely to have been diagnosed with depression, treated by a mental health professional, or taken medication for a psychological or behavioral issue during the last year. This was compared to those who used screens only about an hour a day.
