Answer:

A teenager watching TV in his room changes the channel as soon as his parents come to him. He feels uncomfortable with his parents to see that channel. These television channels, especially the foreign channels contains lots of absurd words, non socialistic thoughts and continuously showing what which is none of our business. These foreign channels have totally destroyed our India culture, moral values and social responsibilities too. Agree with my point or not! Absolutely you are, because this is the reality.

Honorable chief guest, respected jury members, teachers and all my dear friends, today I have got a golden opportunity to speak in favour of the motion ” Foreign channels are threat to Indian culture”.

These days, the young generation is more inclined towards western culture and they want to adopt their ideas only. Mass media such as television channels and programmes have totally changed the mind of teenagers and they have just become addicted to them. They show no interest to their culture, just adopting the western style and in this way, there is increase in gap between them and the society in which they live.

The omnipresence of foreign channels and TV programmes in our daily lifestyles have influenced our culture and heritage more negatively than in a positive way.

Now, people want to copy their favourite stars, and in the very beginning, they enter the drastic world of smoking and drinking. These foreign channels erode our Indian culture and instead of integrating and promoting our own culture, we are just welcoming the worst world of smoking and alcohol drinking. Foreign channels of movies have totally diverted the minds of teenagers and they start arguing with their parents to give them more and more freedom. But my dear friends, you must note it down that more freedom means more responsibilities too and no one in this world except our parents can make us understand the difference between what is good and bad for us.

Some of the Indian channels have also copied the theme of foreign channels in the name of profit and entertainment. Many shows such as Big Boss etc have increased the number of confliction among family members for silly things. This lead to many serious health problems such as depression and hypertension. These shows spoil our family culture and we start feeling disconnected from our family members. I, myself have seen that children of very younger age use abusive words even for their friends. They use coding languages too. And when you ask them that from where you have learnt all these things they just say from foreign movie channels and programmes without any sort of hesitation.
