Gender Equality is an acute problem in modern society. Women and girls continuing to lag behind men and boys on key rights, responsibilities, opportunities and well-being worldwide. It needs to be address in real time as it hampers global development.

Gender Equality implies equality of rights, responsibilities and opportunities for women and men, girls and boys. As of now, women and girls, are unable to contribute effectively or realise their full potential. Equality does not mean that women and men will become the same but that women’s and men’s rights, responsibilities and opportunities will not depend on whether they are born male or female.

Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment

Women are still underrepresented in decision-making positions. Many studies present that women occupy less than one-third of senior management positions.

Providing women and girls with equal access to education, health services, decent work and participation in political and economic decision-making processes will help to achieve economic sustainability and will benefit society and humanity as a whole.

For example, In Sweden, almost half of Swedish parliamentarians are women and men have the right to maternity leave. Many international organizations underscore the importance of gender equality as an incentive for solving many economic, demographic and other problems.

Though some progress has been made in the area of gender equality (including equal access to primary education and boys and girls), but everywhere in the world, women and girls continue to suffer from discriminationand violence. There is strong need to strengthen the legal and regulatory framework, in order to combat the deep-rooted practice of gender discrimination.

To conclude, the struggle for gender equality has brought, brings and will bear fruit for the development and successful functioning of society.

Answer:

GENDER EQUALITY

'Gender Equality', when one says that term the first thing in many people's mind is WOMEN but that's not all. Gender equality is not just leaving the patriarchal society but also making sure that a matriarchal society doesn't succeed it. In today's time the inequalities based on gender is a lot less compared to the times before. The females over decades have been considered weak whereas as men have been thought to be strong. And that is not true at all. Even the strongest warrior can fall down and even the rookie can win whether it is a girl or a boy. And gender equality is not something that can be achieved in a second in fact nothing can after all "Nothing worth having comes easy" and neither does equality. Over years women have been demanding rights and still in many scenarios the females are considered the weaker race. And even if they have got the rights rights real equality will only be achieved when men agree that this is wrong. Gender equality is the need of the hour and in the end we all bleed the same colour.

Hope it helps
