speech on gratitude
Answers
Explanation:
Gratitude, thankfulness, or gratefulness, from the Latin word gratus ‘pleasing, thankful’,is a feeling of appreciation felt by and/or similar positive response shown by the recipient of kindness, gifts, help, favors, or other types of generosity, towards the giver of such gifts.
The experience of gratitude has historically been a focus of several world religions. It has also been a topic of interest to ancient, medieval and modern philosophers, and continues to engage contemporary philosophers.
The systematic study of gratitude within psychology only began around the year 2000, possibly because psychology traditionally focused more on understanding distress than on understanding positive emotions. The study of gratitude within psychology has included the understanding of the short term experience of the emotion of gratitude (state gratitude), individual differences in how frequently people feel gratitude (trait gratitude), and the relationship between these two aspects, as well as the therapeutic benefits of gratitude.
Answer:
Gratitude is Great
Gratitude means thanks and appreciation. Gratitude, which rhymes with "attitude," comes from the Latin word gratus, which means "thankful, pleasing." When you feel gratitude, you're pleased by what someone did for you and also pleased by the results. Unlike indebtedness, you're not anxious about having to pay it back.
Gratitude reduces materialism. The problem with materialism is that it makes people feel less competent, reduces feelings of relatedness and gratitude, reduces their ability to appreciate and enjoy the good things of life, generates negative emotions, and makes them more self-centered.
Acts of gratitude keep the world from getting gloomy. Gratitude brightens our day. Being thankful for even the little things that others do for us should be the way of our life. Parents sacrifice so much for their children. They cared for us when we were helpless infants. Their love and care continue even when we are able to stand on our own feet. But sadly many people forget to express their gratitude to their parents. When their parents get old and frail, they ignored them. In their hour of need we must be there for them just as they did to us when we were unable to take care of ourselves. Parents make sacrifices but expect nothing in return. They are happy as long as you are doing well. There is nothing in the world by which we can repay them. The least we can do for them is to express our love and gratitude to them.
There are also many other people we should not forget to show gratitude. They may be our teachers, our friends, or even a stranger.
There is more to expression of gratitude in our family and social life. There is also scientific evidence that expressing genuine gratitude on a daily basis can improve physical health as well by improving quality of sleep, cardiovascular (heart) health and immune function. Gratitude promotes optimism and helps us to develop a more positive outlook.
Gratitude is great. Gratitude does not make you lesser, it makes you greater. It increases your value as a human being. Gratitude is an outward expression that shows your inward self because it comes from the heart.
