My reading habits are not where I would like them to be because I feel I could spend more time reading things like the newspaper or educational books. Most of the things I read are for entertainment and one of my favorite authors is Paulo Coelho. Most of the books I read are by him. Occasionally I also read magazines as a form of entertainment but overall I would love dedicate more time to reading.

First of all I love reading; I think it is a very important aspect in our life. Also it helps us educate ourselves in numerous ways. One of them is to gain a richer vocabulary. When you read different kinds of books you will often come across many words that you don’t know, and often when I don’t know the meaning of a word I look it up.

I read a book in my spare time or when I’m bored and I have nothing else to do. I would like to change this behavior because I believe we all should take some time on our daily routine to stop and read a newspaper or a book. I believe this is the best way to stay up to date with what going on in the world around us and to be informed.

I’m a strong believer that by reading we get to participates and indulge ourselves with many different points of views as well as different cultures and traditions. By reading we are absorbing a wide variety of ideas and knowledge. This is a great opportunity because it’s one of the easiest and fastest ways to learn new things.

In conclusion I realized I don’t read as much as I would like to and as I should. One of my resolutions for this year is to start dedicating more time to reading the newspaper and educational books. With this I intend to be more informed about what’s going on around me. There is a quote I read once and I thought it was very interesting it says “knowledge is power” and through reading we gain knowledge meaning books are powerful pieces of information.
