GOOD MORNING , RESPECTED ELDERS AND MY DEAR COMPANIONS TODAY I'M GOING TO DELIVER A SPEECH IN FRONT OF YOU AND THE TOPIC OF THE SPEECH IS "INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY" AND HERE GOES MY SPEECH:
International nurses day is celebrated all around the world on 12 may to mark the the contribution of nurses to make the society. The INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF NURSES {ICN}  has celebrated this day since 1965. In 1953, Dorothy Sutherland, an official with the U.S. Department of health, education and welfare,proposed that President Dwight D, Eisenhower proclaim a "NURSES DAY" , he did not approve it.
In january 1974, 12 may was chosen to celebrate the day as it is the anniversary of the birth of florence nightingale, who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing. Each year ICN prepares and distributes the International Nurses Day Kit.The kit contains educational and public information materials, for use by nurses everywhere.
In 1999,the british public sector union UNISON voted to ask the ICN to transfer this day to another date, saying that nightingale does not represent modern nursing.
This year's theme was NURSES:A FORCE FOR CHANGE:IMPROVING HEALTH SYSTEMS' RESILIENCE.

Good morning all,

Thank you for inviting me here today. I am kept to support mark International Nurses Day - which exists tomorrow - and to honor the people who are parts of the backbone of our health system.

International nurses day exists honored all around the world on 12 may mark the gift of nurses to create the society. The INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF NURSES {ICN}  includes celebrated this day since 1965. In 1953, Dorothy Sutherland, an administrator with the U.S. Department of health, education, and welfare, suggested that President Dwight D, Eisenhower announce a "NURSES DAY", but he did not support it.

In January 1974, 12 may be selected to celebrate the day as it exists the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, who exists widely regarded as the inventor of contemporary nursing. Each year ICN organizes and circulates the International Nurses Day Kit. The kit includes academic and general information materials, for service by nurses around.

In 1999, the British public sector union UNISON voted to request the ICN to share this day to another date, stating that nightingale does not describe modern nursing.
