Harold Edward Styles, 16, was born on February 1, 1994 in Evesham, Worcestershire. As a child, Elvis Presley was one of his main influences. He was also the lead singer of White Eskimo band, in which they also won a Battle of the Bands competition. Louis William Tomlinson, 18, was born on December 24, 1991, and is from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. He has appeared in several shows and dramas before auditioning for X Factor. Liam James Payne, 18, was born on August 29, 1993, three weeks earlier from the expected date, and is from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. He took boxing lessons at age 12 because of his bullies, and it gave him confidence over the years. Liam is known as the “father” of the group, who brings them together when things get out of hand. The boys work together very well, and consider each other family. The bonding towards each other benefited their career and greatly helped with their successes. “They just had it. They had this confidence. They were fun. They worked out the arrangements themselves,” Simon Cowell shares after they were teamed up together. “They were like a gang of friends, and kind of fearless as well.”
