There is so much of debate going on as to what predominates between passions and wisdom. And there seems to be no end to the points that support both the views. However, I strongly feel that passions play a far more decisive role than wisdom in the day-to-day affairs of a man's life. Man appears to be a being dominated by passions. Deprive him of them, he will be no more than an android, who though has so much intellect, will be considered a mere machine. Man takes all his decisions  driven by passions and urges and cues he receives from them. For example all the inventions and discoveries in the world of science were inspired by passions and motives of  ease, comfort, security, pleasure and enjoyment. The visions of the inventors were guided and directed by passions. The contemporary world of ours is replete with proofs that confirm passions ' predominance over wisdom. The recent bank data confirms more and more number of people applying for loans for luxuries that appeal only to passions. If man were wise he would never be ready to buy luxuries on loan and repay it with exorbitant interest rates! This further supports my argument that men/women are dominated by passions. Fashion, trade, commerce, manufacturing, tele-communication industry, cine world, TV all have their existence because of passions. All the ugly and evil acts of terrorism, corruption, exploitation, injustice, crime, selfishness, etc are done under the influence of baser passions only. Life is all about learning the ability to control passions, but it comes with experience and tireless striving. So we must learn the art of getting rid of negative passions such as anger, hatred, jealousy, etc., and later on bring the positive passions such as, love, enthusiasm, zeal, etc under the control of experience.
