My name is Rahul and I am privileged to deliver a speech on the topic – ‘Save Trees’. This sounds more like an outcry than just a slogan. Like Earth itself is crying out to us and not ourselves.

Trees are a great part in our planet. We cannot live without trees. But in today’s world, Deforestation is affecting the good causes trees provide to us. Trees play a major role in survival of life in many different ways. Trees provide us food that is necessary for living and oxygen that we breathe to live. Trees also absorb many pollutants like Carbon Mono oxide and Sulphur di Oxide. So without trees Life is not possible at all. Trees are a shelter for many birds, animals and insects. If we cut trees, these species lose their shelter and their life will be totally disturbed. So, Save Trees to Save Life.

The effects of their depletion is beyond what we can imagine. One day our everyday activities will come to halt because of our own destructive activities or our silent passivity. Until we voice our concern, it is never going to change.

“What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.” By Mahatma Gandhi

Let us hold hands in unity and pledge to plant at least one tree in our life time.
