Answer:

hey buddy your answer,

On Monday, we celebrated our Foundation Day. This is a special day when the entire school family has a chance to reflect not only the beginnings of the College and its founders, but also on the significant development since the College’s inception.

It is a day set aside to celebrate our history and revisit and reconnect with the continuing journey of the College. We celebrate that we are blessed with such beautiful surroundings and wonderful facilities. We celebrate the joy of learning as we develop in mind, body and spirit, and we celebrate the bond that we share with past and present members of the John Paul College Family.

We honour our Founding Fathers as we reflect on the commitment, resilience and dedication they displayed to see their vision of a Christian Ecumenical School in Daisy Hill come to reality. It is astounding that 35 years ago our, the leaders of this tiny new school had such blind focus on their goal.

We also gave thanks for the developments undertaken since the last Foundation Day celebration. These include our new Prep and Year 1 classrooms, the Early Learning Centre playground and the new Upper Primary Adventure playground. This theme of refurbishment and renovation continues as our old Science Building has been bought back to its bare bones, ready to be transformed into a new, cutting edge Science Centre.

The College’s Foundation College Chairman, Mr Harry Coleman reported in the 1982 Yearbook: “Knowledge, as opposed to ignorance, has always won out and it is the sincere hope of all members of the Board that when a student leaves John Paul College, he or she will go forth with full knowledge, and therefore tolerance, of each other’s beliefs”.

In light of the increased tensions and disharmony around the globe, we continue to embrace the beliefs that our College were founded upon and understand how important and relevant they still are today – to both our school and to the world we live in.

We rejoice in the love of Christ that bonds us together. That is why Foundation Day is so important – it is a celebration of the fabric that makes us Burgundy and Blue
