It's nearly three years now that SBA Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan has started. SBA inaugurated on 2nd Sept. 2014, has gained a lot of momentum. A lot of funds have been and are being spent on it.

In India organizing a campaign for all people and successfully and sincerely continue over years is a big challenge. In this regard science and technology can help us all. Right from collection of organic wet waste from kitchen to biodegradation of waste, science helps. Technology helps build products that can be bags, dust bins (inside house or large ones outside on the roads). Science and technology also must give better modes of transporting the waste, recycling of waste and generation of energy from waste.

Science and technology must help in construction of cheaper toilets for rural people at residences and schools. Can biogas be generated from there in villages? ? Water is scarce in many areas. How do they maintain their toilets clean then? Science and technology must here.

Use of polyethylene bags is a problem and challenge. Science and technology can help better if glass, paper, rubber (plastic) , wet kitchen waste are all separately collected near homes directly.
Less pollution generating technology is needed for energy generation from waste.

Use of funds granted for toilet construction are diverted by some and are misused. Some places toilets are half constructed and left unused. There is no water.
Elimination of corruption is a challenge.

Perhaps differentiation between summer and rainy season can be made for find more optimum process. Big apartment complexes can have their own biogas plants.

Challenge is that littering is still continued by many. Providing clean potable water in many villages is still a challenge. That is also a part of SBA too.

Web based accounting , auditing and progress reporting and monitoring must be made compulsory. In those processes the feedback of press and citizens must be attached. Only then truth can be asserted. This is a challenge.

Where open defecation is still prevalent, some cheap sprays should be known or supplied so that the mosquitoes are not born and bred so they do not harm people.

Small portable biotoilets could be invented for small villages, hilly and remote areas.

Good morning to all.

I PARCHO, would like to speech on pollution at this occasion.

My dear friends, pollution has been one of the biggest challenges affecting the environment and human lives. It is an environmental issue faced by people all across the world today. Variety of hazardous and toxic substances from different sources are getting intermingled into the environment and causing various types of pollution such as water, air, soil or land, noise, and thermal pollution. Smokes and toxic dust from the industries and factories get mixed to the air and causes air pollution. Such polluted air is very bad for the lungs when we breathed air in. Sewage and other wastes from the industries and factories have their ways directly to the large water bodies like makes lakes, river etc. and they get mixed properly to the drinking water causes water pollution. Such polluted water is very bad to the health of human beings, animals and plants.
