Needless to say that technology & science made our life much simpler & more productive than ever before. Since morning to evening technology helps us to stay safe & healthy, Be it the small Fit Bit belt which shows how much calorie we burnt during whole day by walking or by running or late night world news on TV makes us more aware about what’s happening around us.
Same way Science & technology become the boon when it comes to combat & control unseen natural or environmental disasters. From sensing the global temperature over the years to give the information about global warming or earth-quake effected area’s data by seismic surveys. Technology always act as guardian to protect & help us. We minimised the effect & many time eliminated the adverse effect of climate changes in advance just by the help of technology. There 100s of innovation which helps us day & night to deal with disaster & Tsunamis. Technologies like Radars , Antennas , GPS , Barometers , Pressure sensors , Seismic devices , Flood detector , Temperature or fire sensors are comes handy when we need to take measures in advance to plan & rescue the human being at time of any calamity or disasters . We used them to collect data, behaviours of nature in advance to take precautionary action in ahead.

I have pleasure in welcoming you to this august house. It gives me a lot of joy in reiterating the subject of discussion, technology is indeed a boon in combating environmental disasters.
Nature is splendorous, yet so ugly at times. We bear with it even after it has wreaked havoc through volcanic eruptions, blizzards, storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and tsunamis. Why can’t we show the same tolerance for technology, which has aided in the progress of humanity and made our lives so comfortable. We must, however, endeavor to introduce much more of checks and balances to control its occasional abnormal behavior, but would it be wise for us to throw the baby with the bath water?
Thanks to modern technology, our brethren in North America are living with a renewed hope with the discovery of shale gas in fighting the cruel winter months, when the world today is fast exhausting its known forms of fossil fuels.
Today, people living in the arid areas of the world are gradually becoming aware of cloud seeding , a process in which dry ice or silver iodide is dropped from airplanes on clouds to trigger rainfall. If this is not a positive technological development in combating an environmental disaster, then what is?
Oil spills in our seas and oceans have been another cause for worry. Such catastrophes affect our marine life, resulting in environmental disasters. The invention of oil spill dispersing chemicals and their successful application has been a boon in combating this man-made accidental disaster.
Finally, with the help of early weather warning systems and satellite mapping, today’s meteorologists are able to accurately forecast natural calamities much before they actually strike. Governments, relying on these advance warnings, are able to move people to safety, instead of letting them be sitting ducks and falling prey to nature’s fury.
As I leave the podium, I trust I have been able to convince you, ladies and gentlemen, the positive effects of technology in combating environmental disasters. Please be assured, our technological advancement will continue to be a boon, not a bane, in protecting us from nature’s wrath.
