speech on technology in bane in disguise
Answers
Good morning everyone,
We are gathered here to ponder over how technology could possibly be a bane in disguise. On the face of it, it looks like technology makes life easier. Helpful gadgets and systems like cellphones, microwaves and online networking and banking have made life a lot more convenient than ever before. You can share information, communicate and do financial transactions in a jiffy. But have you realized how we have become vulnerable to addiction, health issues, bullying and frauds?
To begin with, people all over the world are reporting health problems triggered by phone addiction. Very young children show withdrawal symptoms, while adolescents face sleep deprivation issues. The adults slowly begin to drift away from reality and become immersed in their online lives. The result is a lonely world, with hardly any meaningful face to face interactions, especially within the family. This is definitely not an ideal kind of life.
Additionally, gadgets like the microwave and remote controls help us to do things quickly. However, we pay a price for the time we save. Quick food heating solutions kill the nutrients, while remote controls lead to laziness and a sedentary life. Put together, both are harmful for our wellbeing. It is many years later that the results of using the gadgets can be seen. By then, it is too late to make any amends.
Further, the anonymity of online users has caused a rise in the number of cybercrimes. It is extremely hard to identify and then punish the culprits. Cyber bullying has also become common, causing many youngsters to take their own lives.
All the above mentioned points indicate that technology is a bane in the long run. We often make the mistake of considering it a boon looking at its short term gains. The only way out is to use technology in a sensible way, so that we can make the most of it without bringing any harm to ourselves.
Good morning, ladies and gentleman. Today, I am standing here to talk about the abusive aspects of technology that we can see in our own life and those of the people around us.
Undoubtedly, technology has improved our lifestyle in many ways. It has made our daily tasks very easy and we can complete them in a short time with a little effort. But with every ease comes difficulty too and technology has also created many obstacles and causes of distress for us. We now spend too much time on these machines and we do not enjoy life as a normal human being.
We are always caught up in them. The best example of such distress is the use of social media. Instead of using technology for basic needs, we have made it a source of entertainment and time-pass for us. Of course, these aspects are positive when they are realized in certain boundaries but they start trespassing the boundaries and get in the way of our primary jobs, they become harmful. Same is the case with social media.
We spend so much time on our phones and laptops that we are often unaware of what is going on around us. Not only we stay distracted but it also affects our health. Therefore, the need of the hour is to control the consumption of technology to improve our learning abilities and physical strength in a better way instead of spending our precious time on it to pass our time. Thank you and have a nice day.
