In the ancient period schools were gurukuls and mathhs but now every student is studying in a permanent cemented schools . Even the famous shantiniketan which was founded by rabindra nath tagore was also in open air.
In ancient time roads were not perfect as today we can cover very long distance is such a short time on the other hand in our past this was very difficult because roads were raw. people can not imagine to walk on muddy way.
In earlier days people used to go to well for water but now they can have water in their taps .
these changes can be seen by differencing india
