It is quite true that cricket is given more importance than other games in our country. Our country people appear to be inordinately enthusiastic and passionate about cricket. The entire focus of all sponsors, creating facilities, and infrastructure is towards cricket primarily.
As a result other sports are neglected; hence, India has not achieved much in the field of other sports. In football, athletics, gymnastics, badminton, lawn tennis, hockey, boxing, etc., our players have not been able to achieve much. If similar attention is paid to other sports, our players can do equally well in other sports also.
Other sports should be promoted equally if our sportsmen and sportswomen have to excel in them.
