Answer:

I believe that the hardships we endure in life only makes us a stronger person. I say this because I know when something happens and it feels like things can’t get any worse, it usually does, I know the saying “when it rains, it pours” can be a true statement, and I know sometimes when you fall it really is hard to get back on your feet. Growing up, I had a unstable family life. My mother and stepfather were drug addicts so I went to live with my grandparents at 10 years old. Unfortunately, 12 years later my mother is still a drug addict, but little does she know through those hard times, I am now a stronger person because of her. She has helped me by wanting to help others who suffer from addiction. I am going through a divorce right now and I have been mentally and sometimes physically abused by my ex but even though he thinks I am weak, he would be surprised to know he actually made me stronger. He has helped me by not listening to his hurtful words and believing in myself. This year has also been one of the roughest. I am going through the divorce, I am in debt over my head, and it seems like every door that seems open shuts right in my face. I have felt at my lowest these past few months and if I didn’t have God and my friends in my life I think I would have sunk in a depression. One thing I know is that even those people that hurt me, I have to be thankful because I wouldn’t be who I am today without them. A philosopher named Confucius once said, “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” I have came to realize that even though I am going through hard times there are other people out there that are doing a whole lot worse than I am. I could be battling a disease such as cancer, or living out on the streets. I also know that when life gets that much harder, it really does make you stronger. I guess the hard thing to realize is that most of these obstacles that occur in life happen for a reason. I think that the main reason is to not only make us thankful for what we have but also to help build a stronger oneself, this I believe.
