Speech on ozone day:

Good morning to one and all present today. On the occasion of Ozone Day, I will be presenting a speech related to the ozone layer, its importance and what we can do to protect it.

Ozone layer is the fragile layer of gas enveloping the earth surface which prevents the harmful ultraviolet radiation of the sun to enter into the earth's atmosphere. This high energy ultraviolet rays are known to cause skin damage and even skin cancer. Lately due to the pollution in the stratosphere of the atmosphere due to various chemicals gases like chlorofluorocarbons, there has been a significant damage in this layer which has resulted in increased number of cancers. Due to the growing concerns all the countries in the world pledged to replace the harmful chlorofluorocarbons to protect the ozone layer under the protocol named as Montreal Protocol. There has been a significant reduction in the destruction of ozone layer and this again asserts that with human cooperation we can tackle such situations effectively.
