speed and velocity have same units yet they are different physical quantities. Why?​

Answer. this is because speed is a scalar quantity whereas velocity is a vector quantity. Speed has no direction, only magnitude whereas velocity has both magnitude as well as direction. That's why there can be a difference in their values.
