we have equation of motion s=ut+1/2*at^2
200= 0*12+1/2*a 12*12
200=1/2*a*144
on solving we get
a= 200/72=2.777
f= ma=200*2.7778=1388.8889N
I hope this will help you

The magnitude of unbalanced force is 1390 N.

Given:

Mass = 500 kg

Distance travelled = 200 m

Time taken = 12 seconds

Initial velocity = 0 (as boat starts from rest)

To find:

Magnitude of unbalanced force

Solution:

We are given that,

Distance s = 200 m

Initial velocity u = 0

Time taken t = 12 seconds

Let acceleration = a

Let force = F

According to the equations of motion,

s = ut + (1/2)at²

⇒ 200 = (0)(12) + (1/2)(a)(12)²

⇒ 200 = (144/2)a

⇒ 200 = 72a

⇒ a = 2.78 m/s² (approximately)

Now,

According to Newton's 2nd law of motion,

F = ma

Given, m = 500 and a = 2.78

⇒ F = (500)(2.78)

⇒ F = 1390 N

∴ The magnitude of unbalanced force is 1390 N.
