Given:-

  • Speed of Bus = 42km/h

  • Time taken to Cover Distance = 5h

To Find:-

  • How much time would it save if it's speed is increased by 8 km/h.

Formulae used:

  • Distance = Speed × Time

How To solve?

  • First we will find the total Distance covered by the bus.

  • After that we will find the time taken to Cover same distance if speed increases as per given

Now,

→ Distance = Speed × Time

→ Distance = 42 × 5

→ Distance Covered = 210km

Hence, The Total Distance covered by bus is 210km

ATQ,

  • If the SPEED is increased by 8km/h

Therefore,

→ New Speed = 42 + 8 → 50km/h.

Now,

Distance = New Speed × Time

210 = 50 × Time

→ Time = 210/50

→ Time = 4.2h

So, The new time taken by car to cover same distance after the increase in speed is 4.2h

So,

→ Time Saved = Original Time - New Time

→ Time saved = 5 - 4.2

→ Time Saved = 0.8h

So, The Time saved by bus is 0.8h.
