Answer:

Distance = 41.25 km

Average speed= 72.5km/h

Speed in m/s= 20.14 m/s

Explanation:

  • Speed = distance ➗ time
  • Distance= speed ✖ time
  • Therefore;

85km/hr ✖ 15 minutes = 21.25 km

60km/hr ✖ 20 minutes = 20 km

Total distance = 41.25 km

  • Average speed= total distance covered ➗ total time taken
  • Therefore;

distance = 41.25km

time = 35 minutes

41.25km ➗ 35 minutes

= 72.5km/h

  • To convert the speed to m/s, we divide by 1000/3600
  • Therefore;

72.5km/h ➗ 1000/3600

= 20.13888888888(round off)

= 20.14 m/s
