GIVEN :-

  • The speed of a train = 90 km/hr.

  • It is increased by 10%.

TO FIND :-

  • New Speed of the train.

SOLUTION :-

New Speed of Train = 90 + 10% of 90.

➠ 10 × 90/100 = 9.

Now,

➠ New Speed of train = 90 + 9.

➠ New Speed of train = 99 km/hr.

Therefore, New Speed of train = 99 km/hr.

EXTRA INFORMATION :-

(1) 3 equations of motions :-

  • v = u + at.

  • s = ut + ½ at²

  • v² = u² + 2as.

(2) Speed :-

  • It is the magnitude of the change of its position.

  • It is a scalar quantity.

Given

Speed of a train is 90 km/hr, now It is increased by 10 % .

We Find

New speed of the train

According to the question

New Speed of Train = \sf\frac{10 × 90}{100}\\ \\

New Speed of Train = \sf\frac{900}{100} \\ \\

New Speed of Train = \sf\cancel\frac{900}{100} \\ \\

New Speed of Train = 9 km

So, Speed of train increase by 9 km

Hence, We Find Total speed of Train :-

New Speed of Train = 90 + 9 km

New Speed of Train = 99 km/hrs

Hence, New Speed of Train is 99 km per hour.
