Answer:

The Refractive index is also equal to the velocity of light c of a given wavelength in empty space divided by its velocity v in a substance, or n = c/v.

Here c= Speed of light in a vacuum

n = index of refraction

v = Velocity of  light in the medium

So the speed of light in glass medium is 2 X 108 m/s ... Therefore the value of v = 2X 108m/s

Refractive index of glass = 1.5 ... Therefore the value of n = 1.5

The speed of light is always constant in the world and therefore

c = 3 X 10^8

Now if we change the refractive index to 4/3 Therefore the value of n changes to 4/3

n= c/v

4/3 = 3 X 10^8 / v

v= 225000000
