Hello,

Refractive index is simply a ratio.

Also,
Theoretically it is proved that
Absolute refractive index of medium x is equal to
 \frac{speed \: of \: light \: in \: medium \:  \: x}{speed \: of \: light \: in \: vacuum}
Now

Here the medium x is water.
Given that
Speed of light in :-
Water =
2.25 \times  {10}^{8}  \frac{m}{sec}
Vacuum=

3 \times  {10}^{8}  \frac{m}{sec}
Now,

Putting in the formula we get.:-

Absolute refractive index =
 \frac{2.25 \times  {10}^{8} }{3 \times  {10}^{8} }  \\  \\  =  \frac{2.25}{3}  =  \frac{225}{3 \times 100}  \\  =  \frac{9}{3 \times 4}  =  \frac{3}{4}

So, the answer is 3/4

Hope this will be helping you ✌️
