Let distance travelled by car be D1 = 4 km

Speed of Car = 40 km/hr

Time taken , T1 = Distance/Speed = 4/40 = 0.1 hr

Distance travelled by rickshaw be D2 = 1.5 km

Speed of Rickshaw = 10 km/hr

Time taken , T2 = 1.5/10 = 0.15 hr

Distance travelled on foot be D3 = 0.5 km

Speed of Anjali on foot = 4 km/hr

Time taken, T3 = 0.5/4 = 0.125 hr

Average Speed = Total Distance / Total Time

= (D1 + D2 + D3)/ (T1 + T2 + T3 )

= (4 + 1.5 + 0.5)/ (0.1 + 0.15 + 0.125 )

= 6 / 0.375

Average Speed = 16 km/hr.
