This means either we'd be extremely reliant on others or would lose some interest in these tasks.
The world might shed some of the vanity we are so absorbed with in the 21st century, and free our erstwhile pre-occupied minds to other tasks.
This would of course lead our civilization in a whole other direction. With less (it would still be there to some extent) emphasis on superficial beauty and more on perhaps knowledge or other useful skills.
However, at the end of the day we are hard-wired to make judgement calls on first appearances, and even though the contribution of outer beauty would have decreased it would still play a part.
Hence every house would definitely have had large containers of water, until of course technology and the selfie-generation came about!
