✨ Spin Multiplicity = 2|s| + 1

here ,

s = Multiplicity =n/2.

n = no. of unpaired electrons.

Nabinkunar: what is |s|
Anonymous: mode of s
Anonymous: as Multiplicity can be negative or positive
Anonymous: but spin Multiplicity is always positive
Anonymous: Therefore we use mod
Anonymous: mode*
Nabinkunar: spin multitiplicity formula jo batay usme s tha wo Kia hai
Anonymous: mne likha h vha pr s = Multiplicity
Nabinkunar: ok thank you
Anonymous: My pleasure

Hey MATE!

Spin multiplicity is calculated by adding all the positive spin multiples and subtracting the spin multiples of electrons in opposite directions and then multiply it by 2 and add 1.

Like :

There are 5 electrons with up spin and one electron with down spin so we add 1/2 five times and then subtract 1/2 then multiply by 2 and then add 1 to
the result to get spin multiplcity.

Hope it helps
