Spirogyra is a green algae while focus is a brown algae

Both of them have chlorophyll but difference is Spirogya has type A and B while focus has type A and C

Spirogyra stores food as starch and oil whereas focus stores food as  mannitol/ laminarin

Focus is brown in color due to the presence of fucoxanthin which is lacking in spirogyra
