⇒x²-4x=8
⇒ (x)²-2(x)(2)+(2)²=8+(2)²[adding(2)²to both
sides]
⇒ (x-2)²=8+4
⇒ (x-2)=√(4×3)
⇒ (x-2)=±2√3
⇒ x=±2√3+2
⇒ x=2(±√3+1)
∴ x=(1±√3)
