6x {}^{2} + 40 = 31x \\ = > 6x {}^{2} - 31x + 40 = 0 \\ = > 6x {}^{2} - 16x - 15x + 40 = 0 \\ = > 2x(3x - 8) - 5(3x - 8) = 0 \\ = > (2x - 5)(3x - 8) = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

6x^2+40=31x.

6x^2-31x+40=0

The first term is,  6x2  its coefficient is  6 .

The middle term is,  -31x  its coefficient is  -31 .

The last term, "the constant", is  +40

multiply both first term coefficient and the constant

so,6×40=240.

now find the factors of 240 whose sum is (-31).

-16   +   -15   =   -31

now split the middle term in accordance with the factors that we got above.

6x^2-16x-15x+40=0.

=》2x(3x-8)5(3x-8)

=》(2x-5)(3x-8) =0.

=》2x-5=0 (or) 3x-8=0.

=》2x=+5 (or) 3x = 8

=》x=5/2 (or) x= 8/3.
