Hey there Mate!

Let me help You!

See, every quadratic equation is expressed as follows:-

ax^2 + bx + c

here the coefficient of 'a' and 'c' is 2 and 16 respectively.

:. product(of coefficient of a and c)= 32

:. 12x can be split as follows:-

12x= 4x  + 8x                         [ as 4*8=32]

:. now by solving the given equation:-

2x^2 + 4x + 8x + 16

= 2x[x+2] +8[x+2]

= (2x+8)(x+2)

:. (2x+8)=0 or (x+2)=0           [as p(x)=0]

:. x=-8/2 or x=-2

:. x=-4 or x=-2
