Split type room air conditioners (AC) have an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. They use

a refrigerant for its operation. The refrigerant is compressed using a compressor in the

outdoor unit which also houses a condenser. The liquid is then allowed to expand and

causes cooling in the indoor unit also known as the evaporator. When outdoor

temperature is high, the AC consumes more energy for its operation. For better cooling

we should:

I. Install the outdoor unit in a shade area

II. Install the outdoor unit in a ventilated area

III. Install the outdoor unit directly under the sun

IV. Install the outdoor unit in a closed area

Choose the correct answer

a)  I & II   b) II & III    c) III & IV    d) IV
