During anaphase the centromere attaching two sister chromatids splits and the sister chromatids are pulled towards poles by shortening of spindle fibres.

Anaphase is stage of mitosis after the metaphase when replicated chromosomes are split and the daughter chromatids are moved to apposite poles of the cell in a fine manner.

Hope the answer will be right and better for the student to apply for answer.

Centromeres separate and  also chromatids of each chromosome to move to opposite on the spindle.
