we have to split the middle term that is 49x in such a way that addition of the splitted term should be 49x and multiplication should be equal to 84*7 that is 588 in this case.

now

7xsquare +49x+84=0

7xsquare + 21x+28x+84=0

7x(x+3)+28(x+3)=0

(7x+28)+ (x+3)=0

now taking each n equating to 0

x+3=0

x= -3

7x+28=0

x= -4

2 values of x are -3 and -4
