Erucic acid occurs as glycerides in vegetable oils. It is monounsaturated omega -9-fatty acid. It is found in rapseed, mustared seed and wallflower seed.

It is easily degradable by microorganisms and produces foul odour of oils. Hence it is used to detect spoilage.

Hope it did a little bit help to you
