Answer:The sponge is compressible being a solid because of the presence of air cavities inside it. The sponge has numerous pores in it which can be referred to as air cavities, in which air is trapped and on compressing it comes out of the sponge. These pores are the reason why sponge can easily soak liquid into it.

Yes it is Compressible because it has minute holes in which air gets trapped and when we press it the air expelles out and that's why we are able to compress it.
