Children prefer sweets to fruits.
- In this exercise, you need to spot the errors in the given sentence and make the appropriate changes to correct them. In order to do so you need to read the sentence and be very aware of all the grammatical errors that could possibly occur. It's a very simple exercise and is definitely not too difficult.
- The first error in the sentence is the capitalization of sweets and fruits. Sweets is not a proper noun and do not need a capital letter at the start of the word. Unless we are talking about a specific sweet which would be a proper noun. The same can be said about fruits, it is not a proper noun and therefore does not need a capital letter.
- We then have to replace 'than' with 'to'. Than is often used in comparison but when we are making a comparison between two objects and the comparison is already made, we used 'to'.
- Finally, we add a full stop at the end of the sentence.
