cause these pesticides got stick to the crops and become a part of the food chain..and these are eaten by us.. which can cause ailments to the living beings.. that's why we should use these pesticides in a minimum amount....

Spraying high-dose of chemical pesticides proves harmful to the biodiversity and crop yielding in various ways:

  • If we take into consideration, different types of food chains and food webs, the chemicals are taken in by the secondary level of organisms that is primary consumers which proves harmful to them.
  • This also proves harmful to the secondary consumers which prey on the primary consumers and hence the chemicals keep on building up inside their bodies. This process is called Bio-magnification.
  • The spraying of chemicals also affects the microbial population of the soil, which affects the fertility of the soil resulting into the decreased crop yield.
