perimeter of square ABCD = 4 x s

40 cm = 4 x s

s = 40/4 = 10cm

as both the squares are congruent or equal,

measures of the side of square EFGH = 10cm

area of square EFGH = s x s

= 10 X 10 = 100 cm²
