HERE IS YOUR ANSWER :
x^2+4=(x^2+1)^2
x^2+4=(x^2)^2+1+2x^2
0=x^4+1-4+2x^2-x^2
0=x^2-3+x^2
Since the equation is not in the form of ax^2+bx+c=0 , it is not a quadratic equation.
